ChemQuik - (M)SDS Compliance Database

request information on supply chain materials management solutions

The University of California , University of Iowa, Baltimore-Washington Medical Center, University of North Carolina, and North Carolina State University are just a few of the academic and non-profit institutions that rely on ChemQuik to achieve compliance with OSHA’s Hazardous Communication Standard. Available on-demand, around the clock, the ChemQuik  centralized (M)SDS library provides online access to (M)SDS-compliant documents ensuring instant accessibility and consistency across the organization, while minimizing distribution costs of such critical information.

Challenge

In most business environments, chemical management is organized by plant locations where chemicals are routinely and predictably purchased and used. In a campus or hospital setting, access to hazardous chemical information is more complicated because of numerous physical locations using a variety of different chemicals purchased by researchers or laboratory personnel on a P-Card. Crucial compliance documents like (M)SDS come in with a shipment and are frequently thrown away or put in the recipient’s file, thereby not providing access according to the requirements of OSHA’s Hazardous Communication Standard.

Solution

ChemQuik is an enormous centralized database providing on-demand access to continually updated, mission-critical (M)SDS. With an expansive library of more than one million (M)SDS, you can rest assured that when you search for an MSDS there is a high likelihood that you’ll find it. ChemQuik contains all the major life science and pharmaceutical libraries as well as facilities products like coatings and lubricants. Advanced search technology lets you search a wide range of product information, including: product name, manufacturer name, product number and (M)SDS ID. You can further refine your search to locate an (M)SDS by CAS number or even molecular formula.

ChemQuik also gives you research tools. For example, if you want to look up a CAS number for a common chemical, you just enter the name and the appropriate CAS number will appear. Or, if you want to know the synonym for some commonly used chemical, you simply enter the synonym name and the alternative names will be listed.

If you have a dedicated laboratory or research facility, ChemQuik enables you to set up an electronic binder of all the (M)SDS that correspond to the chemicals in your location. This provides a central location where anyone in the laboratory has access to the electronic binder.

For members of the ChemTracker Consortium, ChemQuik interfaces directly with ChemTrackerSM to provide (M)SDS management to enhance compliance and lab safety. (M)SDS information will be directly linked to the chemical inventory being maintained within ChemTracker.
