ACTIO’S MSDS VAULT LEARNS TO TALK
Client Company Employees Gain Improved Access to Hazcom Information
Hampton, NH February 20, 2001, Actio Corporation today announced a major upgrade to it’s industry pioneering ASP based MSDS (material safety data sheet) management solution MSDS Vault™. Improved access features significantly enhance the ability of client company employees to quickly and efficiently find and use information contained in the MSDS.
MSDS Talk and MSDS Glossary provide hazardous communication support to workers who might not understand the scientific wording found in many material safety data sheets. By simply right clicking on a word, MSDS Vault returns a definition from a database of over 100,000 key words used extensively in the industrial health and safety industry. The second major feature is MSDS Talk. With MSDS Talk, key first aid phrases are read aloud by the computer offering new found support for employees with disabilities.
Literacy research has found that 92 million people have difficulty reading and another 42 million people are dyslexic, many of these people make up the workforce that relies on MSDS for key information regarding use, protective apparel and hazards associated with working with a chemical. “MSDS Vault’s upgrade will significantly enhance access and use of the information contained in the MSDS” stated Russ McCann, president of Actio Corporation, he further added “ the terminology found in the MSDS is easily defined to the layman in clear and concise terms, finally the goals of the Hazardous Communication Standard, can be realized.
