ACTIO REGULATOR DELIVERS ADVANCED CHEMICAL REPORTING

ENHANCED STATE REPORTING AND BAR CODE SUPPORT
Hampton, NH Wednesday--October 22, 2003--Actio Corporation today announced new functionality for Actio Regulator™, its SARA Tier I and Tier II reporting module. Actio Regulator now supports California and New Jersey reporting forms and provides exceptional chemical tracking utilizing bar codes generated directly in Regulator.

"Actio Regulator has been embraced by our customers in the medical devices market and the electronics industry" stated Russ McCann, President of Actio, "our customer base understands the value of leading edge technology for leveraging chemical data to support regulatory reporting requirements. Many of our customer facilities are located in New Jersey and California, so adding state reports will significantly reduce the customer's cost of compliance." New reports include the New Jersey Community Right to Know report and the California Bay Area HMIS Report.

Actio Regulator uses the data contained in manufacturer material safety data sheets being managed by Actio's MSDS Vault. The data on the MSDS is verified, then accessed by Regulator to analyze what chemicals are subject to regulatory reporting based upon an extensive database of federal, state and local lists. Inventory tracking is of paramount importance because the location, quantity and composition of a chemical triggers when the chemical needs to be reported on. Inventory is managed by feeds received directly from ERP systems like SAP, Oracle and J D Edwards or by manual intervention. The new bar code feature enables a bar code to be generated when a chemical is received on-site, the bar code then tracks the movement of the chemical throughout facilities and manufacturing processes.

Actio Regulator includes a robust collection of calculators that automatically convert any material received in inventory into pounds, the standard of measure for Tier I and Tier II reporting. Raw material can be viewed in pounds or the unit of measure that the material was received in. Automatic calculators handle the consistent consumption of chemicals if large volumes of material are consistently used as part of the manufacturing process.
