Secondary Container Labels Created Automatically
Hampton, NH--June 07, 2001--Actio Corporation today announced the availability of the MSDS Vault LabelMakerä software and MSDS Vault LabelMaker printer. Thermal printer leverages MSDS data by enabling customers to print out secondary container labels from any computer.

One of the ongoing frustrations of OSHA’s Hazardous Communication Standard is the need to have labels on secondary containers precisely match the information contained on the MSDS. While the intent of the law is well founded, many companies found the ongoing process to be onerous. Employees frequently pour off a quantity of a chemical into a secondary container, then print a label by hand, if the chemical spills, the label is gone. In laboratory environments this has been an ongoing problem as the quantity of chemicals onsite can be in tens of thousands.
Responding to this need, Actio Corporation developed an integrated labeling tool within MSDS Vault that automatically “rolls up” the data in the MSDS onto a label. The MSDS Vault administrator determines the MSDS fields to be included and can edit or add information at will. Once the label has been defined, everyone within the enterprise can print a label. As with all of Actio’s products, there is no software to install on the client’s network. It is all delivered in a web native architecture requiring only a browser to view and operate.
MSDS Vault LabelMaker software works with Actio’s MSDS Vault LabelMaker printers and also supports Avery labels for printing out to inkjet or laser printers. Actio LabelMaker printers are a thermal printer that use permanent adhesive paper or polypropylene tear-resistant labels pre-formatted with the NFPA diamond and the HMIS rectangle.
