Actio Co-founder Now Blogs for Electronics Magazine

Portsmouth, NH  January 7, 2011- Actio Corporation's co-founder and EVP, Kal Kawar, has been invited to author regular blog articles for Circuits Assembly magazine.  Kawar's blog will be called "Green Thoughts."  The articles will cover environmental regulations for industry, with a focus on regulations affecting the electronics industry.

Regulations and standards that affect the electronics industry are not limited to RoHS and IPC-1752," said Kawar in a statement.  "Regulations on waste streams including emissions, water standards and scrap disposal apply.  Sourcing, conflict material regulations and green chemistry parameters apply.  As do processing industry restrictions surrounding chemical lists in solder, general lubricants and coatings.  In short, chemical regulations are a huge part of compliance in the electronics industry."

Kawar is a Professional Chemical Engineer and Certified Industrial Hygienist.  He has been working on environmental, health and safety compliance for decades, beginning in the 1980's at IBM.  He now shares his expertise with industry executives each week in his blog, Green Thoughts, found on the Circuits Assembly magazine web site.

Kal's popular blog with Circuits Assembly is already seen by a readership of over 65,000, and is quickly becoming industry insiders' must-bookmark.

"We're looking forward to informing industry personnel of the latest news in chemical law and compliance," said Kawar.  "We're very excited to contribute to Circuits Assembly as well as to its sister publication, Printed Circuit Design and Fabrication."

Green Thoughts will appear on both web sites.  The Actio Blog will continue to publish materials related to chemical management on the Actio Blog.
